Orangeburg Attorney Bill Connor is first and foremost a Christian, he is also a devoted family man and has now been married to his lovely wife Susan for over 27 years, and together they have three beautiful children Peyton, Brenna, and Will. Connor and his family live in Orangeburg SC. He is owner and lawyer for Bill Connor Law Firm, LLC who also is a former Chairman of the Board of Orangeburg Christian Academy. He is the incoming President of Rotary for Orangeburg. Bill Connor joined the Army in 1990 and served over a decade as a Regular Army Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army. After leaving active duty to become a reservist, Bill earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina. Bill Connor is a man of high ethical standards and believes in giving his clients the absolute best service he can provide. As an attorney, Bill has earned an "AV Preeminent" rating, the highest peer evaluation rating of ethics and ability for an attorney practicing law in the United States. In 2007, Bill volunteered for a year-long combat deployment in Afghanistan, serving as a Joint Operations Officer, developing and implementing the U.S. advisory effort for Afghan National Security Forces. Bill later commanded the U.S. Advisory effort in the volatile Helmand Province, and subsequently earned a promotion to Lt. Colonel. Bill also served as the senior American military liaison to British forces in Helmand, Afghanistan where he served with Prince Harry. For his efforts in Afghanistan, Bill was awarded the Bronze Star and was put in charge of Command and General Staff Officer instruction (ILE) in South Carolina for the Reserves. In 2015, Bill was promoted Colonel and South Carolina's Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer under US Army North. In 2015 Bill was promoted to the rank of colonel.

Bill is a Distinguished  graduate from the US Army War College class of 2018 with an MSS degree. Connor is a graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina and also received a law degree from the University of South Carolina in 2005. Bill ran for Lt. Governor of South Carolina in 2010 and beat out many high profile opponents (including a former state Senator and a former SC Insurance Commissioner) to make the runoff. He was later elected Chairman of the 6th Congressional District (SC) GOP. In 2014 he also ran for U.S. Senate against U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.

 

Orangeburg Attorney Bill Connor received his Bachelor of Arts from The Citadel in 1990, and after serving for over a decade as an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Army, including three deployments to the Middle East, he received his Juris Doctorate from The University of South Carolina in 2005. In 2012, Bill was honored to receive an AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, the top peer rating for American lawyers. Receiving this rating at such an early point in his career is unheard of among lawyers.

Bill is a trial lawyer who spent the first years of his career in Civil defense but now conducts a general practice with a focus on Civil Litigation, military cases, political cases, and domestic relations. As a Senior Officer in the United States Army with over 28 years of commissioned service (active duty and reserve), Bill has unique insights into cases involving the US military.

Bill is a member of the South Carolina and Federal Bars, as well as other attorney organizations. In addition to his practice and Army Reserve duties, Bill was a candidate for Lt. Governor of South Carolina, making the runoff election in the Republican Primary.  He servered as the Chairman of South Carolina’s Sixth Congressional District GOP.  This political experience has given Bill unique expertise with political/legal matters, and he has handled legal issues for top Presidential Candidates like Rick Santorum.  Bill’s wife of 27 years, Susan, practices medicine in Orangeburg SC. They have three children, Peyton, Brenna, and Will. Bill served as board chairman for Orangeburg Christian Academy.

During service in Afghanistan, Bill was promoted to take command of the US advisory effort in the volatile province of Helmand. Shortly after arrival in Helmand, he was promoted in rank from Major to Lt. Colonel. In addition to command of US advisory teams, he was the senior American working with the United Kingdom senior staff. Upon return from Afghanistan, he published the book  "Articles from War," a memoir of his experiences and thoughts in Afghanistan. In 2015 Bill was promoted to the rank of colonel.
